Manic
Off track
Wandering fear tangents
Up jumps a scary thought
Track switches off to the left
way left
Tighter and tighter wound
Round and round she goes
Where she stops
She doesn’t stop
only careens off
A pinball ratcheting
Whack it with paddles
Can’t stop just goes faster
Help me
I just need a little sympathy
Some safety
That’s all
Many of you know I’m a therapist
This poem describes a manic episode
This poem is not like you. Is it you? Do you need help? Do you need sympathy?
